Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

First, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.

The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.

Viewers can look forward to finding out which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
